MRC is delighted to be supporting the Fletchers Foundation. This is a charitable foundation set up by Fletchers Group, and it will award grants to individuals with life-changing injuries or trauma caused as a result of a serious accident, clinical negligence or illness – but are unable to pursue a legal resolution.
It was a great pleasure to attend the launch yesterday in Manchester. Debbie Fairhurst and her husband Paul were awarded the first grant of £2,000 to help with home adaptations, and Debbie was there to talk about what a huge difference this had made to their lives.
It is hoped that the financial grants awarded by the foundation will help cover a range of costs including physical and psychological rehabilitation and therapy; wheelchairs, exercise equipment and other such aids; activities and breaks; and home and vehicle adaptations.
The funding of these grants will be helped by fundraising and both regular and ad-hoc donations. We wish them all the very best.
