This week is a very special time for MRC, not only are we celebrating our 8th birthday but also Sharon, our Operations Manager has been with us for a year!
I first started collating medical records in 1998 from my back bedroom and went on to establish MRC in 2008. When we didn’t have any more room to move around, in 2013, we moved to a small office nearby. A year later we moved to our current modern spacious offices in Altrincham, South Manchester.
Over the last few years we have continued to build a strong professional team of which I am very proud. I have always recognised the value that skilled nurses, midwives and other healthcare professionals can add to clinical negligence cases. Their many years clinical experience gives them excellent insight when analysing medical records. This adds real value by raising specifically relevant questions and identifying the all-important missing medical records.
Our clients appreciate this wealth of experience and specialist knowledge and tell us that this is where the real value of our service lies. Our clinical team now has over 50 specialisms between them, meaning every case is assigned to the nurse with the most expertise in that area. In preparation for the forthcoming changes regarding fixed recoverable costs (FRC) we have reviewed our services and are now able to offer a much more tailored approach to every case. The level of expertise remains the same but we provide a more selective analysis of the records. This makes real cost savings, particularly at a time when the outcome of a case may still be uncertain.
As you can see I am very proud of what we have achieved but enough of that and time to move on to Sharon! Sharon joined us a year ago as Operations Manager and has settled with ease into what can sometimes be a very challenging role. She is responsible for managing the progression of all cases sent to us and she achieves it with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. It is down to Sharon (and Judi) that all our cases are carried out to the highest standard and returned on time. So a big thank you to Sharon and a Happy 1st Birthday!
